Introducing the Mercedes-Benz A-Class
The Mercedes A-Class has been increasingly popular since the first generation was launched in 1997. Over the years, this line of Mercedes cars has seen constant improvement as it has evolved from a sub-compact to a fully compact car.

The new Mercedes A-Class is distinctively wider, lower, and more conventional than its predecessors. One of its most notable features is a longer length and wheelbase, which not only makes it look compact and sleek but also allows for extra space inside. It also features bonnet creases and rising swage lines that further add to its sleek and compact appearance.
The model’s front face is particularly captivating thanks to outstanding features such as a pointy and sporty grille, a two-part light cluster, and new headlamps featuring a lighting signature. It also comes fitted with a larger-than-usual sunroof to let in more light.
The model’s designers also left room for customization and personalization for those who wish to stand out. Optional features include black, glossy bits, and big wheels; the big wheels especially add to the car’s compact feel and appearance, but they come at a higher price.
Interior Features
The new Mercedes A-Class model is notably more spacious than its predecessors. Most of its other internal features are still a well-guarded secret, but the latest official spy shots suggest there is a lot to look forward to.
Notable internal features include a sophisticated digital instrument featuring a wide dual-screen closely similar to that of the E-Class and S-Class. Additionally, the new model features a touch-pad controller similar to those found in exec saloons. The steering wheel also spots several buttons that bring the entire car’s functionality to your fingertips. For comfort, the seats will likely feature ergonomic designs in addition to superior quality leather that Mercedes is renowned for.
A-Class Safety & Performance
The latest Mercedes A-Class generation is set to give the BMW 1-Series and Audi A3 a run for their money. Most of the improvement has been done under the hood, and Mercedes enthusiasts will appreciate the extra power and speed capabilities of the new A-Class.
For starters, this model features a new front-drive chassis and several engine versions to choose from. It is expected to retain its usual four-cylinder diesel and petrol options, and it is also rumored to feature new AMG® derivatives. Besides the A40 AMG® which offers around 300bhp of power, it will also feature the A45 AMG® with a power output of about 400bhp.
The new chassis is designed to support the proposed new plug-in hybrids for those who prefer an electric version of the new generation A-Class. These hybrids will run on both fuel and electricity; the hybrid is expected to feature a 50Kw electric motor as well as a new three-cylinder diesel or turbocharged engine.
For safety, the new A-Class will utilize a better version of Mercedes’ Intelligent Drive System. This system will feature Park Assist and Steering Assist Stop & Go Pilot. Other safety features include an array of sensors. Available 2018.
