Mercedes-Benz E-Class to Include New Internet-Enabled Infotainment System in 2017

Infotainment in 2015
The 2015 E-Class already features plans for a new infotainment system. This system will have Internet-enabled telematics along with the high-performance navigation system and multimedia devices. You can pair this new generation of telematics with any smartphone featuring Bluetooth® capabilities. The COMAND® system will work with a data option to improve Internet functionality, letting you search online without limitations while your Mercedes-Benz is stopped. Mercedes-Benz takes safety seriously, which is why the vehicle can access specific applications, such as Mercedes-Benz Radio, while it is in motion.
To go along with the new infotainment for 2015 models, there is the ability to take advantage of hands-free abilities while your phone is connected via standard Bluetooth®. 2015 models also come with optional 4G wireless that has the ability to download at 300 Mbps and upload at 75 Mbps, taking advantage of mobile TV, high-definition radio, and Multimedia Messaging Services.
Multimedia Systems for 2015
To accompany the updates to the infotainment system in 2015 E-Class models, there are 3 familiar multimedia systems to select from. The standard Audio 20 CD can be installed alone or with the Garmin MAP PILOT®. Drivers can also select the COMAND® Online system that includes a DVD drive. Every single multimedia system on E-Class models for 2015 includes a 7-inch high-resolution Media Display in color.
2017 Dashboard
At the moment, Mercedes-Benz has not officially released any information concerning the 2017 E-Class models, but we have access to spy shots thanks to test drives during the development process. These spy shots indicate an E-Class design that more closely resembles that of the S-Class than before. This includes a digital screen located on top of the vehicle’s center stack, with four round air vents directly below it. Auto experts predict that this digital screen flows seamlessly into the rest of the instrument cluster, creating a key part of the infotainment system for the E-Class models.
